Space, Spud and Beyond

Image
Cubs made an excellent start to their Astronomy badge by building a relative scale chart of planets using items ranging from a sesame seed and peppercorn to a tangerine and tennis ball. They also played a series of games to test their space knowledge from differentiating stars and planets and planets and potatoes.

Cubs from St Peter's and St Benedict's packs completed their Air Activities Stage 2 badge with a visit to the RAF Museum in Hendon. They had a great time exploring the extensive collection of planes and helicopters and trying out the interactive exhibits. They were also very fortunate to be joined by Katy A Lee, MBE  and Steven Erhlich , both trustees for Pilots Together . Katy spoke about her experiences as a pilot and the routes and planes she has flown and Steven spoke about his love of anything to do with aviation. The Cubs loved hearing their stories and had lots of opportunity to ask questions. Cubs, parents, leaders and special guests alike all went home tired, but happy with dreams of soaring through the clouds!
