Environmental awareness and welcoming new members to the group

Image
We welcomed Cathy Swift from LAGER Can , a local group committed to making Ealing's open spaces cleaner and greener by litter picking and working to change behaviours that lead to littering and fly tipping.  Cathy discussed recycling with the Cubs who now have a more detailed understanding of what should go in our domestic blue and black bins. The Cubs also learnt about water use through a game and did an review of the energy efficiency, water use and recycling facilities at HQ: We also warmly welcomed four new members to the group and Scouting movement with the investiture of two new adult leaders and two new Cubs. Welcome to St. Peter's pack!

Sewing memories

Cubs practiced their sewing skills today, stitching badges onto their camp blankets. They saw some impressive  examples of camp blankets and showed dexterity in handling a needle. They also had a quick quiz on the Countryside Code and are all set for Spring camp!

St Bens Cubs Music Medley

St Bens Cubs played, plucked, bowed, keyed, drummed and sung their way through music night. Well done to all of our musicians, there is no end to your talents!

Music Night

Music night brought music and a variety of instruments to HQ. The Cubs tested their knowledge with a quiz on instruments and musical genres. They proved they know their stuff, although describing jazz as 'romance' was certainly novel! Many of the Cubs were able to showcase their musical talents, too: And with music comes dance!
