Cubs go Manga mad

Part of the Artist badge our Cubs have gone crazy for cartoons and mad for manga. The cubs were asked to developed their own manga character setting them into a story. Personal Safety

Cubs showed their knowledge of personal safety by acting out fire safety concepts (and creating a catchy ditty, too!): They also learned about safety at train stations and near railway tracks and played a game being as quiet as a train:

Navigation

Our session was focussed on Navigation this week. Cubs discussed different methods of navigation and how it has developed over thousands of years. Cubs picked up interesting facts about the Mutiny on the Bounty (and as an aside, discussed who last had a Bounty) played a game to reinforce the eight points of the compass and practised map reading in a quiz, which included a question on locating HQ's position before it was built.  

Cubs Sixer and Seconder leadership event

Being a leader is not something that everyone takes to naturally. That's why all of the Cubs Sixer and Seconders get to take part in a special leadership training event. Learning how to build trust, teamwork and communication whilst having fun.  Our younger leaders took a part in a number of exercises that build and stretch their abilities. These new skills are to be used in the Cubs meetings and camps.  Team working Games that build trust  Practical skills and working as a team
