Cubs Get a Good Innings!

Image
Cricket was the order of the day for our last Cubs session of the Summer term.   After a quick bean bag warm up game in the HQ the Cubs were raring to go! Despite the forecast of rain, we dodged the weather and headed outside to learn the essential skills for any game of cricket... Bowling! Batting! ...and catching! With the skills locked in, it was time for a quick fire game to put everything the Cubs had learnt into practise to close off the evening. Special thanks to Arjuna one of our St Peter's parents and member of Actonian's Cricket Club, who helped run the session. We wish you all a fantastic summer break! If going to Camporee we look forward to seeing  you in a couple of weeks.

They had plenty of practice beforehand serving drinks: And forming a guard of honour: We presented lots of badges as well as two Chief Scout's Silver Awards.  Cubs also formed a guard of honour to celebrate the forthcoming wedding of Mysa and we presented them with neckers to commemorate the occasion:

Cubs had a thorough discussion about what they'd like to do in the future during this term's pack forum. Fruit, vegetable or starch themed parties at Christmas were high on the list! After the pack forum it was time for some of the older Cubs to share a skill with the other members of the group as part of earning their Teamwork Activity Badge We had... Cricket bowling Judo Algebra and flag games... With a handful of Cubs due to move up at the end of the term, we  welcomed Scout Leader Allan and Zoravar one of our 1EN Scouts, who talked to parents and Cubs about the transition up into Scouts, and all the exciting things they can expect to do when they make the move. The evening drew to a close with many badges awarded post camp, including 2 Chief Scout Silver Awards  - our highest achievement in Cubs.  Congratulations to Nimrita and Jade, and well done on all your hard work!

Saturday morning the Cubs were up bright and early for some morning exercise, before enjoying a hearty breakfast. The Cubs then enjoyed a packed day of adventurous activities including... Space Hopper Racing...  Archery...            High Ropes... and climbing... With all that adventure, it was time for a filling dinner + Akela and Tan's world class Chilli Con Carne was the order of the day.  So good there were clean plates all round, and many 5 star reviews from the Cubs! After dinner the Cubs set to work on their camp jobs - ...
