Our sleepover began with glorious weather and a chance to practice lighting a fire and roasting pineapple chunks...
...as well as going on a scavenger hunt around the local area and practice some basic navigation skills.
After a wide game and because it's the autumn, there was a chance to play conkers.
Dinner for the evening was a chance to learn some table etiquette and silver service skills at our sleepover pop-up restaurant...
...and engage in polite converation with gentle music in the background.
There was a sumptuous menu...
thoroughly enjoyed by all and described by some as, "This is the best meal I've ever eaten."
There was a well thought out seating plan...
...and Cubs helped out by serving their fellow Scouts.
There was polite conversation...
...and a convivial atmosphere...
...which was buoyed by do-it-yourself mug cakes with dollop of ice cream.
To round off the evening, Cubs played games and chatted...
...and eventually went to sleep, after a lot of deliberation and many visits to the toilet.
Breakfast gave everyone energy for the day...
...followed by a period of reflection during Scouts Own.
Cubs then set to work on Mount Avenue, in partnership with Ealing Council and Lager Can, clearing the street of leaves...
...and filling many sacks as well as becoming Ealing Leaf & Litter Legends and earning a unique badge!
We had time an investiture for our newest member...
and then it was time for our closing Grand Howl and time to say goodbye.
Thank you all the leaders who helped make this a wonderful experience.
