Cubs give a helping hand

This week, the Cubs got hands-on with real-life skills as we tackled the Home Help badge.

We started by talking about why helping at home matters –  it’s part of our Cub Promise, it supports our families, and it builds skills for life.

It was then all hands to the deck as the Cubs rotated through a set of home-help activities designed to build confidence and independence:

Washing Clothes – The Cubs learned how to wash clothes by hand, from sorting colours to using soap and rinsing properly.

Meal Planning –  The Cubs planned a healthy meal they could make at home with their families. They thought about ingredients, timings, and what makes a balanced meal.

Sewing – With patience and focus, The Cubs practised threading needles, tying knots, and sewing badges onto their camp blankets.

Table Setting and Manners – The Cubs used crockery and cutlery to set up a proper table and discussed table manners, including how to serve food, use utensils, and show respect to others at mealtimes.

We finished the evening by investing our 2 new Cubs; Julia and Rohan to officially welcome them into the Pack,  well as awarding Iris (Our new Section Assistant) her official Cub Leader name 'Chil!'

Thanks so much for all the leaders and helpers for a very productive session!
