Walpole and Pitshanger Scouts were back in the hall this week for the first meeting of the new academic year. Many of the Scouts hadn't seen each other since Summer Camp in Wales, so it was great to reconnect with a fun evening of games.
On Wednesday, Walpole's evening of games took in badminton, archery and ring toss.

Pitshanger met on Friday, with Eagles as duty patrol. After flag break came Bodyguard: the troop stands in a circle and passes a soft ball, trying to hit the President in the middle below the waist, while one Bodyguard throws themselves in the way. A noise-matching game followed, with Scouts finding their partner by animal sound alone and not a word spoken.

The part of the evening that will last longest was the quietest. Sitting in their patrols with a large sheet of paper and marker pens, Scouts agreed five rules they want for the troop this year, then shared them with the whole troop. There were plenty of common themes around respect, listening and being kind to each other.
On 27th September there is an opportunity for the Scouts to help support the Ealing Half Marathon, and then on 3rd October to visit The Historic Dockyard Chatham. Full details of both are on OSM. Scouts, please talk to your parents about both. We'd love to see you there.
